How Stupid Do They Think I Am?

And even more oh no! They are not even using their own e-mail to send it!

Yeah, these guys are not exactly pros. They sent me two different e-mails supposedly from Bank of America. The thumbnail below will let you see what they sent me (minus my e-mail address of course). They are at least better spellers than some scammers, have to give them credit on that.

I reported them to Bank of America:

To report a suspicious email that uses Bank of America’s name, forward it to us immediately at abuse@bankofamerica.com.

Bank of America also has good information for recognizing Online Fraud and for spotting the different types of e-mail and website fraud.

I went to clean my SPAM filter out and found a few e-mails claiming I had unpaid item disputes at eBay.  Hmm… odd, I never even heard of those sellers and have not bought anything for some time… since before Christmas in fact.

The e-mails all had a similar theme, I won’t bother repeating them here, but suffice to say, if you get a e-mail from eBay saying you have a dispute, go open a new browser window (DO NOT click on any links in the e-mail!) and enter http://www.ebay.com in the address bar of the browse, then sign in as normal on your eBay account and if you have any disputed payments they will tell you about them.

Oh, and trash the e-mails or send them to the eBay trust and safety fellows.  I was going to include their address here, but sort of got lost in eBay and closed the window before I spent money.
